"I had the pleasure to attend Devika's training session on "Motivation" for my content development team. Although I have attended several trainings and conferences, my team and I were impressed with the presentation and methodology Shikshangan adopted, taking each member along as they moved from from one good idea to another. The idea that left a lasting impact was "Delayed Gratification"... as a tool to stay focussed and motivated."

Educomp, Greater Noida.

Devika and Vijay are so inspiring. My team was left with absolute clarity after they attended their workshop on Assessment. The cordiality and earnestness they exhibit so naturally along with their knowledge and expertise in education is something that leaves me greatly motivated. What makes it even greater is their thirst to share!

The School leadership Programme , undoubtedly ,triggered off the thought process and provided a platform for discussion on practices in the education sector . It was also an opportunity to discuss recent findings of experts. The Management tools which can be used in school administration was indeed an eye-opener. It was a well planned and informative workshop. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely recommend it for all school leaders.

During the inaugural training Institute of Teach For India's Fellows in May 2009, Devika and Vijay provided critical insight into the Math, Science and Social Studies curricula currently used by our schools. Their well thought out curriculum maps provided a deep understanding to our Fellows about the sequence of instruction. Their teaching strategies were appreciated and have been useful in our classrooms.

"Shikshangan conducted a 3 day workshop each for teaching staff of Ambuja Vidya Niketan (Ambujanagar, Junagadh) & Ambuja Public School (Rabriyawas, Pali) in 2009. During the course of the workshop, Vijay & Devika ensured that the teachers were impressed upon to refine & upgrade their teaching skills & methods; they learnt several effective ways of dealing with pupils in the classroom through mind-mapping of their respective subjects viz. Maths, English, Science and Social Science. Teachers gained insight into 'higher order thinking skills (HOTS) and into bringing elements of creativity , problem-solving, critical thinking through various activities and sessions. We are sure that such workshops will provide fillip to teacher training & development program as well as benefit our students."

After implementing its school support programme for about 4 years, ACF felt the need to assess its education programme in Darlaghat, Himachal Pradesh and Chandrapur, Maharashtra and invited Shikshangan to do so. The assessment meant to broadly look at two indicators- the impact ACF's interventions had made so far and the future course of action that needed to be taken. With ample experience in the field of education, Shikshangan undertook an extensive study of the programme and interacted with various stakeholder groups- teachers, children, VECs, Government and submitted an in-depth report. The report has been extremely helpful for us to re-look at our programme from a new perspective, build on its strengths and to modify it for the better.

The School Leadership Programme conducted by Shikshangan was a wonderful and enriching experience. I got a fresh insight into dealing with various activities and problems at school through fun filled activities. The six day programme was tightly packed with learning, entertainment and serious introspection. I definitely feel that I have evolved both as a person and a school leader. Kudos to both Devika Nadig and Vijay Gupta for their professionalism and infectious enthusiasm. The workshop and the stay at Girivan will remain etched in my memory as an out of the world experience. More than anything, I am glad to have had the opportunity of meeting two wonderful people.

It was wonderful opportunity which I got, to attend the School effectiveness programme at Shikshangan. It was after attending this workshop & understanding about organizational leadership; I could connect to & willingly agree to the different initiatives taken by the management of my school. Learning & sharing about the different aspects of education from wonderful facilitators Devika & Vijay was a privilege. The environment & greenery of the Girivan forest was like a cherry on the top. We have implemented a few things learnt from the workshop & that has helped us in our teaching & learning process.

Sanjana Amarnani

Fountainhead IB School, Surat.

I had the privilege to be an integral member of the School Leadership Programme, one of Shikshangan's most consistently successful endeavours. I use the term 'integral' very consciously because through the course of six days, I increasingly felt a sense of belonging as well as found myself developing a sense of ownership over the programme. Our batch comprised 'leaders' from myriad walks of education and yet, the course content cut through the barriers of diverse places and differing methods. On one hand, I began to belong to a stimulating group of educators and on the other, the scope of equal participation and contribution made me own and internalize the teachings. A truly humbling and enriching experience!

The workshops conducted by Shikshangan are informative in areas like self awareness, problem analysis, decision making, effective communication and inter-personal relations. The participants gain new insight into the concepts of accurate self assessment and management of priorities. This is achieved with the help of well organised games, which enthuse the participants immensely and shortcomings and negativism are taken in a lighter vein. This helps everybody to bring out their personal and professional qualities effectively.
